About
Pachinko is an Apple TV+ drama series, starring Lee Min-ho, Soji Arai, Jin Ha, Kim Min-ha, Youn Yuh-jung, and Anna Sawai. The series is based on a novel by Min Jin Lee and was adapted by Soo Hugh, and premiered on Apple TV+ on March 25, 2022. Based on the New York Times bestseller, this sweeping saga chronicles the hopes and dreams of a Korean immigrant family across four generations as they leave their homeland in an indomitable quest to survive and thrive. Pachinko follows four generations of a Korean family, starting from 1915 to 1989. In 1931, Sunja leaves her family in Korea under Japanese rule, to move to the Koreatown of Osaka, Japan, and start a new life there. The series details the living conditions and discrimination of Korean immigrants in Japanese society. |
